Yes, I thought I would never do such a thing, but I have been sewing lately. I could not stand sewing growing up. I have no patience, therefore making sewing no fun haha. Anywho, I love decorating, and unfortunetly there are times where you have to sew. So I give in.
So for my birthday (Which was on the 6th. I'm 24 now. Oh wow. I'm getting old) my mom got me a sewing machine. I needed one. I am so short, all of my pants need to be hemmed. I tried doing it by hand, and it wasn't bad, but took forever. I also need to make a bunch of decorative pillows. I hate finding such cute pillows at stores and the price tag is $50. For 1 pillow? Really? Anyways so I've decided to make my own, and only purchase the pillows that I just can't live with out. haha.
So today my mom came over and she spent the day helping me pick out some fabric and teaching me how to use the sewing machine. It was a nice day to spend with my mom and work on this project. Our guest room needs some major decor, so we started with that. We have a window seat that we made a cushion for and made 3 pillows to go with it. Here is the picture I am going for our guest room.
I still need to paint the walls white and look at some stuff to hang on the walls. Here is the window seat with the 3 pillows we started with today. I love it. We had to put some books on it to keep the cushions all even and flat.

Morale of the story? Things you hate when you are little, might actually come in handy when you are old. Dang.
