Easter Weekend

This past weekend we went to California for some wedding stuff, and also for AJs sister's baby shower. It is so exciting to see Jennie and Ivan get all ready for their little baby girl. It will be the first niece for both AJ and I, so we are so excited for her to get here!

While visiting I got to stop by Aubrey's place. And. Oh. My. Jealous. She literally lives on the beach in Newport. She has 4 roommates and they all live in this awesome college area, go to school and hang on the beach. She is living the good life for sure. Oh and did I mention that she went to Costa Rica for her spring break to volunteer at an orphanage? I'm pretty sure I have the most amazing sister around. :)

Most of the wedding planning is done! I'm getting more and more nervous as we get closer. So much planning and then it's all over in one glorious day. I can't wait! Picking out the flowers, deciding on a venue, food tasting, picking out the cake, bridal dress shopping! Ahh I've loved it all. I'm trying to enjoy the whole process and soak it all in. A little less than 4 months to go! Oh and we booked our honeymoon. After seriously taking 2 months to decide we are going to St. Lucia! I can't wait! :)

Let the planning begin!

This past week went so crazy fast. I went to Vegas for Christmas and had a lovely time with my parents. It was so nice to see my family. All us girls went out on Christmas Eve in Vegas. Definitely a first! haha.

AJ flew up to Vegas on Monday and we hung out with the family that day. We went on a hike and opened presents. From there we drove to Orange County. Worst car ride of my life. I don't know what we were thinking driving the day after Christmas. It should have taken us about 4 hours, and it took us 6 1/2. Seriously not fun. Eventually we made it to Orange county and met up with AJ's family.

We stayed with AJ's cousins Mike and Roz for the night. We asked Mike if he would be our officiant and marry us. It was so awesome to see his reaction. He was stoked and we are so excited to have him be our officiant.

The next day we drove to San Diego to look at venues. The first place we looked at the lady had no clue what she was doing and didn't give us much information. NEXT. So Wednesday we look at a few more places and decide on a venue!! We are so stoked. We set the date for August 3rd, 2012. While we were there we booked our photographer. Now that we have a date and a venue the true planning begins. I'm so excited. It truly is going to be the best day of our life. :)

'Tis the season

I Love this time of year. Our Christmas tree and decor is up and I just love it. I went to my work Christmas party yesterday and had so much fun. I'm just reminded especially at this time how truly blessed I am. I have such an amazing family and Aj's family is amazing as well. I couldn't ask for a better family to be joining. My job is hard, but I love it.
I'm slowly doing some wedding planning and enjoying every second of it. I just love Aj more and more every day as we get to plan an amazing day. I seriously just want to cuddle in my pjs every day by the fire (if we had a fireplace haha) and listen to Christmas music. Such an amazing and happy time right now. :)

This year for Halloween we dressed up and decided to make our own costumes. Considering we didn't have to spend more than $20 for both our costumes they turned out pretty good! Hope everyone has a wonderful Halloween :)

4th of July

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. There's nothing better than being with friends, bbq and some pool time. We did exactly that this year, and it was awesome. I ate way too much junk food, had some killer barbeque and shot off fireworks.

Happy Easter everyone. I'm not a very religious person, but I can definitely appreciate this day.

In wonderful/fabulous/amazing news my dad was offered a job in Las Vegas! My dad hasn't been able to find a job for 3 1/2 years. Damn economy. I can't even explain the amount of trials and stress my family has experienced during that time. To be honest, it really pushed me to the point that I wasn't able to believe in God. No family should have gone through what we have been through, and I really felt we couldn't catch a break. Looking back I still don't understand why we all had to go through so much, but I do know that my parents have become the strongest people I have ever known. I know they learned a lot and maybe for some reason, God needed for all this to happen. I don't know. I am so grateful that finally a blessing has been given to our family.

So here's to hoping for a fresh start for my family. Cheers :)

Valentines

This Valentines was sweet and simple. We just went out for some mexican food and came home and dipped strawberries in chocolate. (Thought it might be a little healthier than buying candy for each other. haha)


I'm so grateful to have Aj in my life. He makes me laugh every day. I love how he loves our dogs probably just as much as I do, and how we both think they are hilarious when other people think we are just weird. haha. I love you Aj. xoxox

A Very Merry Christmas

This year I had such a lovely Christmas. My family hasn't been able to get together at my parents house for 3 years so it was so nice. Of course my parents made way too much cookies, chocolate and goodies. It was nice to be home and have a good Christmas with the family. We got to do some of our old traditions that we do every year as well. Lots of laughs and joy we had this Christmas.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

I love Christmas time. Every year I completely forget how happy it makes me. I love coming home and seeing our cute little Christmas tree and listening to carols. I love receiving all the Christmas cards in the mail and sending mine out thanking all our family and friends for being there for me. I love seeing all the Christmas lights on all the houses. All the Christmas movies, love and joy felt at this time is just splendid. I love Christmas!

Thanksgiving

I had a lovely Thanksgiving this year. My Dad's side of the family all got together and we had Thanksgiving at my Aunt and Uncle's house. It was nice to see everyone, especially since we don't see them that often. My Grandparents flew out from Missouri so it was awesome having the whole family around. I ate lots of food and might have a had a food coma for about 2 days but that's ok. haha. I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving!

Valentine's Weekend

This weekend we went up to Sunrise and went skiing an snowboarding. We went with some friends and had so much fun. I had a little bit of a hard time snowboardin with a bum knee but I still had fun none the less. I'm so glad I have such a sweet guy in my life that I get to share these experiences with. I love ya Aj.

Christmas In Cali

Christmas this year was a lot of fun. We spent a lot of time in Orange County where Aubrey lives and went to Laguna Beach. It's beautiful there! I got to spend time with my sisters and have dance parties. haha. I met up with my friends that I don't get to see that often and it was great. We had some difficulties going to the airport, but other than that it was a great Christmas. :)

I love Christmas!

Christmas time really has to be my favorite time of the year. I don't know why it just is a very happy time :) I have been quite the debbie downer lately, but I'm trying to just stay positive and be grateful for the wonderful things I do have. School has been going great, I'm actually pretty good at this stuff. haha. For Christmas it will just be the girls since my parents can't make it out. (tickets are too expensive). Which really stinks but hopefully it will be the last year with out them. I hope everyone has a great holiday season, and please enjoy the time with your family

2 years

On a lighter note, (from the previous post) On friday Aj and I celebrated being together for 2 years! We went to the melting pot, and oh man is that good!! Despite everything that is goin on in my life, Aj really helps me get through. He's my best friend and really has put a smile on my face. Love him soo much!

For Thanksgiving I'm heading to Cali to spend it with aj and his family and a couple of my sisters. It should be fun, and a nice little vacation.

Dang You Snow

Amber is supposed to fly in tomorrow, and it's snowing hardcore in Oregon. So hopefully her flight won't get canceled! I am really looking forward to spending Christmas with my sisters. We are all going to my Aunt and Uncle's for Christmas Eve so that should be cool to see them.

New Table

Yup, I'm big pimpin. I FINALLY got a dining room table. haha. Craigslist you are my bestfriend! Here's some pics of the new table and our apartment decorated for Christmas. It's still not done yet. We still have to get a Christmas tree.
