Thankful
As Thanksgiving comes closer I have been thinking about everything in my life. I often times become a negative nancy and dwell on the negative things, but I really have so much to be grateful for. I'm so grateful to have roof over my head and food in my belly. I have a great job and a wonderful man in my life. I'm so grateful that my family is always there for me. I'm so grateful for our little pups that bring so much joy into my life. I'm so grateful that I have friends that are there for me and support me, here and my friends in California. So many things that I need to remember to be grateful for :)

Camping Much?

So yesterday we drove up to go camping with our friends to a little spot about 2 hours away. It seriously was up in the mountains middle of nowhere. I'm talking about seeing wild turkeys, skunks, and wild hogs. Crazy! It was so much fun until middle of the night and I'm freezing. Freezing as in going into the car to sleep, wearing 3 layers of clothes, but still freezing! I seriously was shivering. I didn't know what to do, because everyone else was passed out and warm. (They had sleeping bags that were meant for camping, and mine was the cheapo one from target haha) So after 2 hours of freezing my booty off and not able to sleep I wake Aj up and say," I'm leaving. I can't sleep and I'm freezing my a$$ off!" (Pardon my french) He suggested just using his sleeping bag, but I was so past the point of trying to get warm, I just wanted to go home and get under my warm blankets. So Aj and I left at 3 in the morning and drove home. Talk about scary driving down a mountain, half asleep and stopping for wild animals to cross the road. haha.
Moral of the story: Pack 300 blankets and get a warmer sleeping bag.

Dear Monday
Dear Monday,
I don't know why you are so awful sometimes. Today as I'm on the phone (while driving.. oops) I find out I have to pay an unexpected bill and then a rock hits my windshield causing a crack. Really? Really? Good thing I have car insurance that will pay for the crack, but still. Work was too busy and overall it was a crapoliscious day. Please let next Monday be better.
Sincerely,
Me

Lunch Break Detour
So today I was driving home on my lunch break when I'm driving down the usual road and a doberman is running a full sprint in the middle of the road next to me and about 20 other cars. He was running right into oncoming traffic. I drove past him and thought what am I doing??? TURN AROUND DUH!!
Luckily no cars were coming the other way and I did a quick U-turn and pulled over. There wasn't much of a side lane to pull over in so I'm basically in the street. Oh well. I rolled down my window and whistled and yelled over to the dog hoping he would come to me. Luckily the big goofy dog came prancing on over to me. He had tags! YAY! He also had two numbers on them. YAY!
I was seriously shaking at this point. I don't know why, I guess I was freaking out that this dog could have just gotten killed, I've rescued him, now hopefully I can get him to his home.
I got out of car and opened the back door for the poor guy and he just hopped right in. I pulled over around the corner and called the first number. No answer. Great! Finally my brain started working and I decided to start driving home, and at least get him some water. I called the second number as I was about to start driving home and luckily the lady answered.
He lived about 3 blocks away so I was able to drive him there safely and return him to his owner. The lady was so grateful & I am so grateful that nothing happened to him. That is my worst nightmare; that one of our dogs will get out of our yard and be on a busy street. (that's why our gates of locks on them ;)
It felt good to do good.

Happy Easter
Happy Easter everyone. I'm not a very religious person, but I can definitely appreciate this day.
In wonderful/fabulous/amazing news my dad was offered a job in Las Vegas! My dad hasn't been able to find a job for 3 1/2 years. Damn economy. I can't even explain the amount of trials and stress my family has experienced during that time. To be honest, it really pushed me to the point that I wasn't able to believe in God. No family should have gone through what we have been through, and I really felt we couldn't catch a break. Looking back I still don't understand why we all had to go through so much, but I do know that my parents have become the strongest people I have ever known. I know they learned a lot and maybe for some reason, God needed for all this to happen. I don't know. I am so grateful that finally a blessing has been given to our family.
So here's to hoping for a fresh start for my family. Cheers :)

Good Times
Today I decided to look through all my old photos of when I first moved out to Arizona. Omg, I can't believe how much fun I have had. Every night I had friends to hang out with and laughs to share. It was incredible. You don't realize how awesome it is to have your friends and all these fun things to do until it's gone. I remember moving into my first apartment and just hanging with our neighbor boys every night. We went to so many themed parties, cocktail parties, birthday parties, sloshball, softball, everything! You meet so many people from all over in Arizona. People from the east coast and midwest especially. You got to watch out for them them east coast boys, they be smooth talkers for sure! haha.
One of the biggest reasons I moved out to Arizona was because I wanted the college experience. I wanted to meet new people, go to parties, go to football games and have memories! I stayed in California a year after high school for a stupid boy, and didn't want to be that girl that didn't get to see new and different things. It was important to me to experience college. It didn't really hit me until today that I got that college experience and more. The ASU football games were outrageous! I loved them. The whole day was planned around the football game.
I got to date new guys and meet my guy now :) My roommates out here weren't all great, but I learned a lot from all of them. The actual school part wasn't memorable, but I did take a semester of ASU Women's Choir and loved it. It was amazing. I only could do 1 semester due to my schedule. Lots of experiences that I will always cherish.
I'm grateful in one aspect to have a great job now and to be more settled down, but still miss the rowdy days. I just got remember to have some rowdy days every once and a while :)

Cali Bound

This weekend Aj and I are going to Disneyland! I keep getting more and more excited the more I think about it. It was Aj's idea to go on Superbowl Sunday (which is very surprising because Aj can be categorized as the ultimate football fan. He has to watch every game, read every article and visit every football website. But since the Superbowl doesn't have the Cardinals playing I guess he doesn't care. haha) his sister went one year and it was completely dead. Keeping our fingers crossed that that is the case and hopefully everyone else doesn't have the same idea. I'm looking forward to visiting California, seeing my sister and Aj's family. We haven't been to back to California in about 6 months, which is far too long.
This past week has been quite rough with hearing of the loss of two people I used to know. I've been thinking how precious life is and how quickly one can leave this world. It makes me want to try and to be the best person I can be every day, and to be kind to everyone.
I'm definitely needing a vacation. Work has been extremely busy and some days all I want to do is throw my arms up and say I need to go home and sleep for a week! haha.
Countdown has begun! t-4 days 'till Disneyland!

A New Year
I can't believe it's 2011! Pretty crazy yo! I'm hoping that this year I can work on myself and being a better person. It's hard because I am extremely stubborn and set in my ways sometimes. But I'm trying to be more open and free spirited.
Some goals that I'm going to work on this year:
Some goals that I'm going to work on this year:
- Be a better friend, sister, daughter and all around good person.
- Manage my money better. I've been getting slowly getting better each year, but I still need to manage my finances better.
- Develop new skills and read more. I like learning new projects to do. Whether its on the computer or around the house. Like last year I started painting and I love it.
- Try to go to the gym more. Like everyone else I say this every year and I fail at it. But hey I'm going to try to go more than 1 time every three months like last year. haha

The Year in Review
2010 has been pretty good to me I must say. I definitely had my ups and downs but all in all, a good year.
Top Ten of 2010
1. Moving into our house! I love love love it! It's so nice to have a home that is so wonderful.

2. Marty joined the fam. We just love him so much even though he may be a little stinky at times.
3. Aj turned 24! Yikes haha j/k babe. I turned 23 and had such a fun birthday. Both my sisters came out here and I had an awesome pool party.

4. I finished school! Yay! Such an accomplishment. Most of 2010 consisted of me loathing school and dragging my butt to school. I'm glad I finished and even more glad it's over.
5. Getting a job as a Veterinary Technician. I can honestly say I really enjoy my job. Every day is different and you meet such lovely people and their pets. (Some crazy people too.)

6. Holly and Wally's Wedding in Idaho. Honestly it was one of the most beautiful wedding I've ever been to. So amazing and I had way too much fun with Aj's family :)

7. Traveling. We didn't do to much traveling this year. We went to California a few times, Idaho for Holly's wedding and about 4 trips to Las Vegas. haha. Hopefully we will do more in 2011.

8. My parent's moving to Arizona. I haven't had my parents live close by for 4 years. It's so nice that they are only a half hour a way. It's especially nice when they come over and make me dinner. haha
9. At Thanksgiving all the family got together. That's a miracle in itself. My extended family doesn't get together too often so it was awesome to have my grandparents, cousins and aunt and uncle together.
10. GLEE! I'm sorry I'm obsessed with Glee. Ya it can be totally predictable at times and maybe a bit corny but I love it. We saw Glee live in concert and was in the fifth row. Amazing experience I will never forget. All the cast on Glee can definitely sing.

Cheers to 2011! I hope it brings lots of joy and happiness to everyone!

3 more weeks...
UNTIL I'M DONE WITH SCHOOL!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
So ready for school to finally be over with. I feel like I can't do anything or get anything done when I have to go to class for 5 hours every night. I'm going to be so relieved once I'm finally done and can have a life again.

On the search

For a new home!! The condo we have been living in has been nice but it's time for a change. It's become too small especially with two dogs and no yard. So we are looking to buy a house! Whoop Whoop! It's kinda a scary process but an exciting one. We looked at houses a few weeks ago and the houses were alright but not exactly what we wanted. The good thing about this economy especially in Arizona, houses are dirt cheap. We are going to go and meet with up with our real estate agent next week and look at some more. I'm so excited to move into our own place and have a yard for the doggies. It will be muy bueno!! :)

New Job!
Today I got the news that I got the job as a veterinary technician at a hospital close by. I'm so excited!! I wasn't really looking for a new job, but sent my resume to a couple animal hospitals and three interviews later got it!! I'm still not done with school, but they still hired me. It's a beautiful hospital with lots of brand new equipment. The doctors and nurses are all so sweet! I'm very excited to begin my new career. :)
I'm a little sad to leave my job as a manager. I really liked the girls I worked with and this all happened so fast! I hope that I will definitely stay in touch with them all.
Kinda scary to begin my grown up job but definitely excited too!!
Here's a pic from the past weekend when we went to Vegas. Which btw, was awesome! :)

Summer
So this summer has been pretty laid back, just mostly taking it easy. I'm out of school right now so that has been nice to take a break. My mom is staying with us right now to see if maybe they can find a place out here in Arizona. No luck yet, but possibly sometime soon.
We are headed to Vegas in two weeks and I can't wait!! We always have so much fun there. We are going with two other couples so it's going to be suhweeeet! At the end of August we are going Idaho for Ajs sister's wedding. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait! That mostly sums up our trips for the summer.
That's mostly the update on my life right now. Can't wait for Eclipse on Tuesday! I got my midnight tickets. haha. I'm going with my mom and cousin. I'm stoked. :)

GLEE!!!

Last night Aj took me to the Glee concert! Omg it was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. We were in row 6!! They all are so talented it's crazy. I wasn't sure if they all could sing live but they def can!! They sang some of the best songs: Don't rain on my parade, the two mash up songs, madonna, lady gaga, push it, jump, don't stop believin, sweet caroline and so many more. It was fabulous! Puck and Rachel came and sang right in front of us. It was so amazing. Everyone should go see their concert or at least watch the show. You won't be dissapointed :)

May Flowers

I love the month of May!! One of my favorite months. Not just because it's my birthday month, haha, but because it is so beautiful outside. My mom is visiting next weekend for mother's day and I'm so excited. I haven't seen her for about 6 or so months. It will be so nice to spend time with her. I started up my classes again, and hopefully I can just handle everything better and not over due my self.

Break
This past week has been such a rough week. Working full time and going to school full time really just took a toll on my body. Been so stressed, having some health problems, went to the hospital and finally it just effected my school work. So it sucks but I'm going to have to take a break. At first I was really upset called the dean (which was a total jerk btw) to figure if I could make up some of my absences and he had no compassion. Really A huge freakin jerk.
I kinda feel a little better though now. I really need to take a break, I think. I was just feeling so much pressure from everyone to go to school, finish your program, blah blah blah, but it's just really hard to have to pay for a million bills plus try to get an education. Idk.. anyways I guess moral of the story, taking a break for now, deciding what to do later.
Both Aj and I got the stomach flu this week too to top it all off, so that was no fun. Better now, but ughh being sick just sucks. Hopefully things will be a little easier and I can relax a bit. I'm going to visit California next week so I think that will definitely be a good remedy to my stress as well. Sometimes I wonder why I live out in Arizona sometimes... oh well. I'll move back eventually :)

Demo, School and my roo
So our condo has been a complete construction zone for the past four months. It's been pretty hectic but it's looking so much better.
This is bathroom #1:
Before:
After:
Bathroom #2 is in demo mode. Once it's all done I'll post some pics. School has really been hard. I've felt sick all week too so that doesn't help either. Here's a pic from class of me practicing scrubbing in for surgery. haha.

And then here's a pic of Rudy and his little girlfriend Ruthie :)
